Nandu (Bobby Deol) an orphan turned assassin somehow gets wrongly accused of a politician's murder and is on the run. On his escapade on a train he meets Shekhar (Pradeep), who is homebound after fourteen years, they get chatting and Nandu finds all about his joint family and the wedding of Shekhar's cousin that he is going to attend. However the police catch up with Nandu on the train and shoot at him but Shekhar shields Nandu and dies on the spot. Nandu goes to Shekhar's family home in his village to return his grandfathers watch and also to break the news of his grandson's death to him. However it turns out that Shekhar's family mistakes Nandu for Shekhar and makes him a part of the celebration at home. Preet (Shriya Saran), who is the daughter of Shekhar's grandfather's friend is in awe of Nandu and falls in love with him. CBI Inspector Rane (Nana Patekar), is given the responsibility of tracking down the killer and is after Nandu. Will Nandu be able to come out of the crisis a winner? Will the family come to know about his truth? What would be the fate of Nandu and Preet's love story? Who was the real killer?

гы... скорее наоборот. Бобсовы проекты обычно все же выходят из небытия. через год-два-три. главное, что выходят.

На индияфм появились Music Review на Тасвир и Эк. Добрые критики (критик? ) поставил и тому и другому по жирной двойке по всем параметрам - музыка, лирика и исполнение (Эку даже за исполнение еще полбалла накинули )

After a long gap, Bobby Deol will be seen in a full fledged role in an action packed film with Ek- The Power Of One directed by Sangeet Sivan. The soft spoken Deol scion couldn’t hide his excitement while speaking to us about his upcoming film amongst many other things.

His Ek is being compared to Aamir’s Ghajini in terms of its action content but Bobby differs on it and says, “Well I guess apart from a few action scenes nothing is the same. Yes Ek is also the remake of a South film like Ghajini was hence it has the same kind of action. In fact Peter Haynes has done the action and he has done a lot of action in the South films that is why people tend to compare the two.” says Bobby.

There has also been a lot of buzz about him jumping off a high rise building and doing adrenalin rushing stunts in the film. “See action is the USP of the film. I enjoyed doing the action stunts. But then I have been doing a lot of action films. In fact my role in Dostana was very different. I had done a role with shades of comedy and people loved it.” Bobby says.

It is the first time Bobby shall be seen along side actor Nana Patekar who is famous for his whimsical ways on and off the screen. “Contrary to what is written about him, Nana is a very chilled out guy. I was pleasantly surprised when I came to know from him that he is a big fan of my father. He’s a talented and senior actor. He’s awesome in the film with shades of comedy to it. I am confident people will love Nana in the film” reveals Bobby.

About his Ek director Sangeet Sivan, Bobby tells us, “I have known Sangeet from a long time. He had done a film with Sunny long back. We had always wanted to work together but nothing materialized. I am also doing my second film with him now. It will be made on our home banner and is a father and son story. So naturally I will be acting with dad again in this film. It’s a light hearted film. This will be my second film with dad and I am looking forward working with him again.” says Bobby.

Bobby is doing yet another film papa Dharmendra and candidly admits he was nervous facing the camera with him for the first time during Apne. He adds, “Well that is because he has always been the major authority in our lives. He has done so many films but not anymore in fact I would love to work with him. We are a normal family though emotions run high in our family. Right now we are busy discussing and reading the script.”

Apart from these two films Bobby has not signed any other film. “Nothing exciting has come my way. I am waiting for it. I will be doing another film with Sameer Karnik but nothing has been finalized” Bobby concludes.

Bobby Deol feels he has been taken for a ride by filmmakers

He wears his trademark furrowed brow but every now and then breaks into that shy smile that’s still making the ladies swoon. Yes, we got a lot of that ravishing smile in Bobby Deol’s last, ‘Dostana’, but luck seems to have run out for his next is an out-and-out action film, ‘Ek — The Power of One’.
It’s a tad tough to veer away from Dostana where, in an extended special appearance, Deol played the character of a fashion zine editor. Dressed in wine-coloured velvet suits and shirts in pastel hues, and a short crop, he added more beauty to that good-looking film.

So what did he think of the wardrobe that stylist Aki Narula offered him? He laughs: “Well, I wouldn’t have agreed with some of the colours that Aki made me wear but then I can’t complain for it all went well with the character,” he declares. “But then, my personal taste too is pretty outlandish — I end up picking up stuff that many wouldn’t even dare to get close to. I can’t say I’m proud of it but then, I can pull it off.”

However, today, seated on a garden bench outside his brother’s Sunny Super Sound office in Juhu, he isn’t dressed in anything peculiar — a basic denim shirt and tattered jeans define his easy mood. And he’s grown his hair out again for Ek.

What’s surprising is that the younger of the Deol siblings has chosen to return with an action film despite the failure of their home production, ‘Chamku’. That too in a film by Sangeeth Sivan, a filmmaker who is known for his comedies.

The actor brushes away the suggestion that he has a penchant for action as he lights up his third cigarette in 15 minutes. “Nobody loves being put into cables and thrown into mud with blood everywhere. But the action in Ek is very well stylised.”

The action director Peter Haynes, he says, would mix half-a-dozen different powders and spray it all on him and co-star Nana Patekar. “The powders were dizzily fragrant and I had a headache by the end of the second day. But it worked for the film, which has a typical cop chases criminal storyline.” Sivan, he says, suited the role of the director the best for the film is the remake of a South blockbuster.

The director is also a part of his next, Cheers, a lighthearted filmunder the Vijayta Films banner. The film that also stars the Deol head of the family, Dharmendra, is “the journey of a father-son duo”.

Another Deol in news these days is cousin Abhay, the latest cover boy of the industry and Bobby seems glad that he always stood his ground. “He’s always stood by what he believes in—good cinema— and that’s what’s made him successful,” he asserts, leaning against a wall. “’Dev.D’ was phenomenal and I’m extremely happy for him.”

In contrast, Bobby is often considered laidback about his career. “I have a different working style. Maybe I love being pampered,” he laughs. “Jokes apart, I think films hardly turn out they way they are projected when they’re offered to me. And I agree I do get taken for a ride more often than not. But I’m okay with it. That’s me.”

Bobby Deol protests being called the king of cameo roles

New Delhi: His blink-and-you-miss-him appearances in ‘Dostana’ and ‘Heroes’, protests Bobby Deol, kept him in the limelight. But he admits, he’s relieved to finally be doing a lead role again, in the kind of film that the Deols hold as a special forte —-you guessed it, action. He is playing the lead in ‘Ek - The Power of One’, which releases this week. “I liked the way the film was shot and it has an interesting story line,” says Deol, at The Oberoi coffee shop in Delhi.

A remake of a 2005 Telugu blockbuster Athadu, the Hindi version offers some slick action sequences and has been directed by veteran action filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan (of Apna Sapna Money Money fame). “I am not too fond of Telugu cinema since it has unnecessarily puerile humour. But when Sunny (Deol) made me to see the Telugu version, I was blown over,” he explains.

Shot over a 72-day schedule in Mumbai, Chandigarh and Manali, the film sees Deol jumping off a 7-storey building, as a trained assassin (Nandu) who is running from the law. “Action stunts are painful to perform especially because of the dust and the silly things directors make you do for a scene. I prefer not to do my own stunts after I broke my leg in my first film,” he says, avoiding talk of comparison with his earlier role of an assassin, in ‘Bichhoo’, in 2000.

The film sees choreographed action scenes by Peter Hein (who also did stunts in the dud Tashan in 2008). Will Ek... rescue Deol in Bollywood? If not, Deol has his next move sorted with Sivan, who begins work on directing the Dharmendra and Bobby Deol-starrer Cheers, this May. “It deals with a father-son relationship and how they sort out their differences,” says Deol. Sounds familiar?
