He is someone who is known to break the stereotype. Each of his roles has been different from the other and he truly symbolises the tag of the 'hatke' actor. We are indeed talking about the super cool Abhay Deol who was the star attraction at this special Meet-N-Greet event organised by Bollywood Hungama.com

Dressed in a grey T-shirt and faded jeans, Abhay looked at ease interacting with his fans who had been waiting to meet their favourite actor.

After exchanging pleasantries, it was time for some interactive Q-n-A session as contest winners got to ask Abhay a whole range of questions. When a young fan asked Abhay if he ever feels like doing a full-on commercial film, the affable actor replied, "Honestly I'd like to think that I am doing commercial films because if you talk about non-commercial films, it means nobody is watching it and it's not making any money. So I don't like to use the term commercial cinema or non-commercial cinema."

Abhay even seemed at ease when a contest winner asked him a rather candid question on how many girlfriends he has had till date? Abhay immediately began counting on his fingertips and said, "Yaar…I don't know. I am a really passionate person so be it about girls or about music, passion is passion. You can't number these things."

A lot of fans also wanted to know about Abhay's future projects and the actor was more than happy to share information. Said Abhay, "My next release is Aisha where I star opposite Sonam Kapoor. It's a nice romantic comedy based on Jane Austen's novel Emma. Then…later this month I begin shooting for my film with Zoya Akhtar in which I have Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar as my co-stars. It's a story about a road-trip taken by three friends and the adventures they have along the way." Since the film is yet to have a concrete title, eager fans were more than happy to offer some title suggestions such as Safar, Life Goes On etc. for this as-yet-untitled film.

Amidst all this fun and interactivity, Abhay also spoke about 'The Climate Project-India' of which he has been appointed as the brand ambassador. He spoke about how each one of us could in our small way help in making our city a better place to live through the use compost dust-bins.

The contest winners were in for a special surprise when we asked Abhay to turn quizmaster for a bit and ask some trivia relating to his films. The fans who gave the correct answer were handed over a DVD of Abhay's smash hit Dev D while one lucky winner who answered the bumper question correctly got the shock of her life when she found out that the gift box actually contained a voucher entitling her a free head massage by Abhay Deol. The expression on Abhay and the contest winner's face had to be seen to be believed.

Finally, it was time for the contest winners to get clicked alongside Abhay Deol. The actor happily posed for the shutterbugs and made sure that this was an evening his fans would cherish for a long time to come. In the past, Bollywood Hungama has always given its surfers a chance to get up, close and personal with their favorite stars right from Ranbir Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor to Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif.

На самом деле имелся в виду бесплатный массаж головы (черт подери... я бы тоже не отказалась Это ж представить только!!! )
В своем последнем фильме - Road Movie у Абхая как раз такая профессия. А точнее, его отец продает масло для волос, ну и соответственно плюс всякие процедуры - и мечтает, чтобы Абханя пошел по его стопам.

Он сам по себе. Не домостроевец, повернут на американском образе жизни, живет один. Широкой деоловской души и размаха ему не хватает. Интеллектуал.
Вон Бо тоже был в свое время молодой, а все равно Деол до мозга костей.
Если так, без обиняков, Деолы - все "любители" в самом широком смысле этого слова, а Абханя - профессионал. Чуешь разницу?

Abhay Deol honoured at the Toronto (M! M! M!) Film Festival

Fresh off the success of his last release Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Abhay Deol was honoured this year as the featured celebrity at the Toronto (M! M! M!) Film Festival.

Abhay Deol who rode into Bollywood as the dark horse managed to win accolades for his brilliant performances and took the industry by storm- Apart from featuring as the "new face of Indian Cinema" on the covers of Time Out and Man's World, Abhay was felicitated at the prestigious film festival held at the Harbour Front Centre which celebrates South Asian Culture between the 19th-21st August 2011.

ason Kennedy, Minister of Citizenship and Multiculturalism said on behalf of Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Harper said, "Many in Canada have appreciated Abhay's films, particularly in the South Asian Diaspora, and we hope that his presence at the festival will continue to excite and entertain Canada and her diverse people."

The M!M!Movies held a discussion with the actor followed by the screening of his films -There was also a retrospective of his movies -Dev D, Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, Manorana Six Feet Under and Ek Challis Ki Last Local.

Ех, я всегда в него верила - еще когда он только начинал и всей индустрии он был интересен только как племянник Дхара. Моему сердцу правда было бы приятнее видеть его в чем-нибудь типа Socha Na Tha".. Но что-то здесь мы с индийской публикой не сошлись, классика не нем не работает

Bollywood actor Abhay Deol will share a table Monday with Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson at an exclusive 'Diner Du Siecle' to celebrate the arrival of Moet & Chandon champagne in China more than 150 years ago. "I am looking forward to this event. It is both humbling and exciting related stories all at the same time. Moet & Chandon is not just an established and respected house but a brand that has been associated with glamour for decades now. It's heartening to see them recognize talent from across the world and celebrate life and art together," commented Abhay on the exclusive honour.

"Moët & Chandon is the champagne of cinema, with a long-standing affair with movie-stars all across the world. The Diner Du Siècle promises to present the perfect mélange of east meets west - Scarlett and Abhay will come together to celebrate the magic of Moët & Chandon and the charisma of celluloid," Bhatia added. Bhatia described Abhay as one who "stands for pure art, glamour, success and is the face of contemporary Indian cinema, much akin to Moët & Chandon's spirit of celebration, heritage and savoir faire." "He brings with him an enviable body of work and a cult following. Needless to say, we are most excited that Abhay will be joining us at this spectacular evening in Shanghai," gushed Bhatia. Moet & Chandon will take the opportunity to auction a luxurious coffret filled with bottles of the prestigious Grand Vintage 1911. The proceeds will benefit the Nature Conservancy, a local environmental initiative helping to protect nature and preserve wildlife, according to Bhatia.
