Отправлено: 16.05.08 02:21. Заголовок: Koffee with Karan ..
Koffee with Karan Nov 18, 2005 Karan: He's a super star and still extremely introverted. He likes to maintain a low profile. Many women say that in an industry full of boys, he's the only man. You are media shy and feel awkward giving an interview... Sunny: Yes, it's true. Right now, I've come over here, but I don't know what I'll be doing. I get so nervous. Karan: You were wild in your younger days and there were many girlfriends. And so you were packed off to London. Sunny: Wild? Yes, when you're young, you do a lot of silly and stupid things. Now one looks back and thinks, "Why the hell did I do that?" But it was fun and one misses all that. Actually as everyone says, I'm a shy guy. And I wanted to join films. Being in India, being my dad's son, it was difficult being treated normal. All the time you're either treated over nicely or treated like shit. I just wanted to go somewhere where no one knew me. And that's why I went to London, I wasn't packed off. Karan: And you did a course in acting in London. Sunny: Yes, it was in Birmingham. I was in a theater called the Old Web Theater. I was there for a year and a half. Karan: Do you think that helped at all when you came back, to face the camera in India? Sunny: Yes, it did. I had rarely been to a studio or shooting with my dad. (laughs) So when I was over there, working on the stage… I slowly broke the ice, started getting more comfortable. And when I came back to Bombay, I was very confident. I look back and see that as the period of time I got educated with my work. Karan: Very interestingly, your wife today, Pooja, gave you lessons in Shakespeare when you were in London. Is that true? You can't imagine - Sunny, this big action hero, taking lessons in Shakespeare with his wife! (laughs) Sunny: (smiles) Yes, she used to help me on that because I was not aware of him at that time. I wasn't too sure about the language spoken and she being there was a great help. Karan: So do you think your wife helped you in your vocation of acting? Sunny: Yes, she did. Karan: He's cool, he's sophisticated, he's hip. The youngest Deol is also a Deol who can dance. So do you make your brother and your father dance to your tunes? Bobby: I did try. Now I'm a father so I know how it feels. (smiles) Karan: You're the only one who can share Sunny's clothes. Apparently, he's so possessive about them. Bobby: I remember when I was in my 10th standard I sneaked into his cupboard. At that point, faded jeans in different colours were in. So I got a pair of green jeans, a green shirt and leather tie of his. Karan: He's also your father figure, someone older that you also have respect for. Bobby: Definitely. No brother would stop his work and give up what he's doing to launch his brother. I love him so much that I'd do anything for him and he'd do anything for me. Karan: That is true. Sunny, you put your career on hold when Barsaat got delayed. Sunny: Yes, I know. But the film was being made the way it had to be made. One doesn't think of all that. That was my goal then, nothing else. Karan: There was an upswing-downswing with the film. A change in the director and script... Sunny: Yes, it went through all that. You know, when you try too hard things do get a little difficult. Karan: It does come across that you're very close but there are differences characteristically. Bobby is more media friendly than you. Is there some kind of an inner war against the media? Sunny: No, it's not a war or anything. It's just that one doesn't know how to tackle it or go about it. I'd love to be like everybody else - be written about or spoken about. I get more uptight because they're putting you down all the time. I'm the kind of person who'll say, "Forget it" and run away from things. Karan: And you, Bobby, do you think the media has behaved unfairly with you and your family? Bobby: I think so too. But that's the way media is. They do it to everybody. I hardly speak to the media myself. Karan: What's your take on these family dramas as you said. Films that are coming year after year like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge or Kuch Kuch Hota Hai? Sunny: I don't know much about what they say. But when media picks it up and says just another that kind of a film, it's not right. It's irrelevant whether it is or not. At the end of the day, you go and watch it. Don't review it and make up the minds of people who are going to watch that film. Karan: You, Bobby, haven't had any spat with filmmakers but had one with the two Kapoor sisters, Karisma and Kareena. Bobby: (laughs) If anything happened, I'm sure it was quite immature. We were in Singapore and witnessed a lot of things there. Karan: But does it make it awkward? You belong to a small world really. Bobby: That's the sad part. I don't like to be not friendly with people. Karan: There was also the movie London, which eventually became Dillagi. It would've been the first crossover film. Now that Gurinder Chadda is so acclaimed, are there any regrets for not having made that movie. Sunny: No regrets as such. If I had been a sensible businessman then, I wouldn't have let go of anything. I would've gone ahead and made the film. Even financially, most actors get into production and get out soon. I'm the only one who gets the beating of the financial sector again and again. (laughs) I've got so much vision. I just want to keep making films. sourse: http://starone.indya.com/serials/kwk/highlights.html

видео-интервью в 3-х частях: Let's Talk with Sunny Deol by Zoom Team 1. http://www.zoomtv.in/view/interviews/lets-talk-with-sunny-deol-0 (первая не включается, но вторая и третья в порядке ) 2. http://www.zoomtv.in/viewpost.php?id=598&pg=1 3. http://www.zoomtv.in/viewpost.php?id=598&pg=2 его текст прилагается Date of birth: 19th October. Sun Sign: Libra My Passion: To make good cinema My ambition: To make films. I love: My mother I admire: My father I respect: My family Tarana: Your film Apne is really doing very well. Congratulations! Sunny: Thank you. Tarana: We heard you were the main person to make this film successful. Sunny: No, I was not the main person. As the elder son, it was my dream. No body was ready to make a film with us. We had to look for producers. But later thing went well. Tarana: Apne is a film about giving back to your parents. So in a way you have done this film for you dad. Sunny: No, I have done nothing for my father. Tarana: Don’t lie. Your writer had informed us that you wanted to make this film for your Dad. Sunny: I was feeling irritated as to why people were not willing to do a film with dad. On the other hand they were doing films with Amitabh Bachchan. Tarana: Did you feel you could have written the script? Sunny: I am bad at writing. Tarana: So now the film has released and doing well, are you satisfied? Sunny: Yes, I am really happy. Tarana: Tell us about your emotional side. Sunny: Emotion is some thing which can’t be controlled. It depends upon situation. Tarana: On screen your image of a hardcore angry macho man. But in real life you are a softy. You are just like a coconut. Sunny: In films it’s just acting. That does not mean that in real life you have to behave in that manner. Tarana: You have created your image of a protective brother. In your fan letters do you receive Rakhis? Sunny: Yes, I do receive them. Tarana: Abhay told us you are afraid of pests. Sunny: I am afraid due to hygiene reasons. Tarana: Tell us about your fitness secret. Do you still workout? Sunny: I do exercise. I have always been active in sports. I played lots of football, cricket and squash. Recently doctors advised me to stop playing squash due to my back pain. Tarana: So that’s the secret of you health. Are you dieting? Sunny: I am not dieting. Tarana: You are a Punjabi. So every Sunday there must be a ritual of having butter chicken, rajma and parathas. Sunny: At home we don’t decide what is to be cooked on a particular day. For me every Sunday is a Monday. I work daily. Tarana: I would like to ask you about your brother Bobby. In terms of personality is he a brat. Sunny: He is not really a brat. As he is younger at times he gets away. Tarana: The youngsters at home say they are afraid of you and not Dad Sunny: There is less fear and more respect for elders. I have seen them growing. They respect me and I treat them as my kids. Due to this there is discipline. Tarana: For a long time you had taken a break? Sunny: That’s due to my health. I had back pain and hence had to take bed rest for months together. When I was young I took my body for granted. I did a lot of stunts. At that time I didn’t realize the harm I was causing to my body. Tarana: So Zayed Khan and Akshay Kumar beware? Sunny: Well, we shouldn’t do stunts if we are not sure of them. Tarana: What about your films? Sunny: Now things have changed a lot. There are lots of precautions taken in terms of safety. But to do stunts, you need guts. I still do my stunts. Tarana: So your next film is Kaafila, tell us about this film. Sunny: The concept of this film is interesting it’s about illegal immigrants. I play a Pakistani. The film will make sense to the people of the Indian sub-continent who had migrated to western countries and those who still migrate. Tarana: In many of your films you are portrayed as a savior. Single handedly you fight the enemies of the nation. Some people even say we should send you to the border. Sunny: Everybody has an opinion. But I would like to say that we must be patriotic towards our nation. Tarana: Dillagi was a good film but didn’t do well in the box-office. It was your debut in direction. Why didn’t you direct other films? Sunny: For direction you have to give lot of time and be patient. For one year you have to stop acting and only concentrate on one film. I could not afford this. Tarana: Do you really like direction or acting? Sunny: I would love to do the entire film. Acting is some thing which I’ll always do. I see many of our directors who have less knowledge about many things. I am not trying to say that all are not good. Hence I’ll take up direction. Tarana: Let’s play the word association game Tarana: Ghayal Sunny: Rajkumar Santoshi Tarana: Amrita Singh Sunny: Spoilt brat Tarana: London Sunny: Second home Tarana: Veeru Sunny: Dad Tarana: Punjab Sunny: My Home Tarana: Dance Sunny: What is it? Tarana: Why didn’t you learn dancing? Sunny: Men don’t dance, they make others dance. But in film I have to dance. Tarana: Item songs Sunny: For item people. Tarana: Balwant Rai Sunny: Amrish Puri Tarana: Gadar Sunny: Controversy. Tarana: Jo Bole So Nihaal. Sunny: Controversy. Tarana: Illegal Immigration Sunny: Kaafila Tarana: You have been quite good in this game. Sunny: Thank you. Tarana: You have been a delight talking with. Hope to have your entire family on this show. Sunny: It’s my pleasure sourse: http://www.zoomtv.in/view/interviews/lets-talk-with-sunny-deol-0

| I SPEAK LIKE I DANCE: SUNNY DEOL May 31, 2007 Sharing screen space with dad Dharmendra and brother Bobby Deol in Anil Sharma's Apne, has made actor Sunny Deol a very happy man. He will also be seen in the comedy caper Fool and Final. However, the actor has been keeping a low profile for sometime now. In this exclusive chat with CNN-IBN, Sunny Deol reveals all. CNN-IBN: Why are you so media shy? Do you not like interacting with the press anymore? We get to meet you only before the release of a film these days. Sunny Deol: I am an introvert (laughs) and I really do not know what to say because when I see people speaking, I wonder how can I really speak like that. To me, interacting with the media is like my dancing. CNN-IBN: Apne is a film that is going to reunite the Deol family. Was it a blast going back to Punjab? Sunny Deol: It was really great being there together and it really felt nice. It was like being home again. CNN-IBN: After Metro, the film with which your father Dharmendra made a comeback, he says that he feels young at heart now. He said that he wants to do a Roman Holiday with Priety Zinta. How do you react to that? Sunny Deol: (laughs) Why not, why not? Dad is one of the great actors who has been in the industry and he's got a flair for everything. He doesn't have to put any effort into his acting, so I say 'why not'! CNN-IBN: Are you planning to take up the director's mantle and make a film of your own? Sunny Deol: I would love to do that but not yet because of late I have been trying to consolidate my company all over again and dad and me are both determined about doing some great stuff together. We hope that by the end of this year, we will have everything set right and maybe from next year onwards we will just be making in-house films and maybe later on I may think of directing a film. sourse: http://www.buzz18.com/interviews/movies/i-speak-like-i-dance-sunny-deol/869/0 видео на www.buzz18.com почему-то не включается , зато оно есть тут video: http://www.truveo.com/I-speak-like-I-dance-Sunny-Deol/id/813601287

I'm not ashamed of being emotional IANS July 12, 2007 In the macho triumvirate, he is the taciturn Deol. While father Dharmendra and brother Bobby are ‘people’s people’, Sunny Deol is retiring. “Your work should speak for you. The day you have to speak about your work, it means things are bad,” Sunny explains. Daddy dearest While film-maker Sooraj Barjatya glorifies the big Indian joint family in his films, Sunny actually lives and believes in one. “It’s our way of life,” he asserts. The traditionalist, who maintains that ‘a father is a father’ reveals, “Whilst shooting for ‘Apne’ we had to let go of ‘dad’, or else it would’ve been difficult to do the film. Once the shot was over, I’d move away and everything would be the same.” The staunch son adds, “We share a similar outlook-not to hurt anybody and live with honesty.” Hello brother Sunny, who’s known to have given his career a ‘pause’ so that brother Bobby’s could pick up, justifies, “I did it because I wanted to do. I’ve seen Bobby grow. He’s like a son to me,” adding “Often when I’m away on location for days, Bobby just flies down to be with me.” Macho mush Sunny has no qualms admitting that the Deols are a sentimental bunch. “We are mirror-like. Whether we are hurt or happy- it reflects on our faces. I’m not ashamed of being emotional.” Band of boys Sunny, who is keen that his sons Rocky (16) and Rajvir (12) complete their education, reveals that his relationship with them is similar to his with his father. “A little distance will always remain. It was the fear of my dad that kept me on the discipline track or I could have drifted,” says Sunny who confesses being ‘very fond’ of Bobby’s sons (Aryaman and Dharam) who address him as ‘Tayaji’. My woman Sunny, getting expressive, also shares the influence of wife Pooja in his life, “She has brought in harmony and of course my sons. The mother’s upbringing is very important. Pooja is a good mother. She has handled everything, including my home, very well.” A quality he admires in a woman? “It’s having the honesty to accept your shortcomings, forgiving and forgetting. That deepens bonds. Everybody has anger and frustration inside. How a woman holds the family together-that’s her test!” http://movies.indiainfo.com/2007/07/12/sunny.html

Што-та я не помню, скидывала я эту интервьюшку или нет.. ну пусть будет, чудная.. и про Бобсика Bhai and large 17 Mar 2008 “Bobby was not a morning person but now he has started waking up early every day,” Sunny. You are getting back into production with a bang... Yes, I was out of action because of my health but now I am fine. We have Chamku with Bobby and Priyanka releasing in June after which I will start my film The Man, starring me and Shilpa Shetty. Is it true that you have asked Bobby Deol to lose a lot of weight for Chamku? Yes, that's because the film requires Bobby to sport a lean look. And you wake him up every day to take him to the gym... Bobby was not a morning person but now he has started waking up early every day. I used to wake him up early for his workout. I too, need to lose weight for The Man. Sometimes, Bobby too wakes me up. In a way, we both are pushing each other to get into shape. Do you work out together? Not really. We both go to a health club to play badminton or squash in the morning. As far as the gym is concerned, it depends on our respective schedules. Are both of you following a specific diet to lose weight? I believe there is no shortcut to fitness. You have to exercise in order to lose weight. However, today thanks to everybody being health conscious, we are aware of what to eat and what to avoid. Bobby has been given a diet chart by his dietician. However, he needs to combine it with a healthy dose of exercise to get the lean look for his film. You have also shot a Holi song for the film... Yes, the song is an integral part of the film. It takes the narrative forward. Although, Chamku is releasing later, we are releasing the Holi song on radio during the festival. Radio holds a special place in my heart as we grew up listening to it. Also, I didn't want to reveal the look of the film before its release. You are foraying into direction finally.... I wanted to direct a film for a long time but was not getting the right opportunity. The Man is a film that Neeraj and I are directing together. I play a former RAW officer while Shilpa Shetty plays a popular international star in the film. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Entertainment/Bhai_and_large/rssarticleshow/2870694.cms

Sunny side down Sunny Deol has not returned Rs 50 lakh to PNC, which he had received as signing amount for a shelved project two years ago. PNC has filed a case against him with IMPPA Back to Section Stories Posted On Friday, July 25, 2008 Pritish Nandy Communications and Sunny Deol are at loggerheads. The former has filed a case with the Indian Motion Pictures and Producers Association (IMPPA) against Sunny for not refunding a payment of Rs 50 lakh given to him as a signing amount two years ago, for a project which was later shelved. PNC, in their complaint to IMPPA, has said, “PNC had signed Sunny Deol for a film and paid him Rs 50 lakh in advance for their film Aayega. However, the film did not work out. Soon after, Sunny Deol was given other scripts to read by PNC. However, he rejected all of them. Later, after a lot of dilly-dallying, Sunny stopped communicating completely with PNC. With no room for discussion on any project or the return of the signing amount, PNC was left in a lurch. Fed up, PNC eventually filed a case at IMPPA against Sunny for the refund of advance payments made to him.” However, a source informs, “Sunny was keen to do the film Aayega and that’s why he had accepted the money. The director of the project at that time was Rohit Shetty of Golmaal fame, whom Sunny was keen to work with. But soon after the project fizzled out, Rohit bowed out of the film. This disappointed Sunny. Later Sunny did not like any of the other scripts given to him and that's why none of the projects hit the floors.” R K Mukherjee, Vice President, PNC, said, “The complaint against Sunny Deol is a standard one, which we have lodged with the IMPPA. We would like to leave it to the IMPAA, which is a very fair body, to handle the situation and find a solution. All we want is closure and an amicable refund of our money from Mr Deol.” Sunny Deol is currently out of the country, so we contacted his publicist Vijay Grover. Grover simply refused to comment on the issue. источник

25% shooting complete of The Man 24 Jul, 2008 06:00 am ISTlINDIATIMES MOVIES Sunny Deol is very tight lipped about his latest directorial project, The Man. Shooting for the film in Goa was wrapped up with strict intructions to the cast and crew not to talk about the progress of the film. Shilpa Shetty plays a diva in the film, quite like her real life character and Sunny is the dashing body guard. The film does sound quite like Kevin Costner's hit film The Bodyguard with pop superstar Whitney Houston. Apparently, shooting of the film is going on at a brisk pace and almost 25% of its shooting is complete. The unit is taking a break right now as Sunny has given dates to Deepak Tijori for Fox. источник

Sunny gets crafty for Fox By: Shaheen ParkarDate: 2008-07-31 India: Sunny Deol is wooing a different 'crowd' these days. Known for his action roles that require him to spew lines like 'Jab yeh dhai kilo ka haath kisi pe padta hai', the actor goes in for a sleek look in Deepak Tijori's Fox. This psychological thriller is also Deol's first project that is targetted at a multiplex audience. The actor-director's films are usually a draw in the northern belt and are popular at single screen theatres. Kuch alag "The audience has this certain image of him as an actor due to the kind of films he has done. But Fox portrays Sunny Deol in a new light a far cry from his known image. At the same time, we have not resorted to any distinct styling to make him look different," says Tijori who is finally working with the actor after two projects planned with him never took off. "I have been thrice lucky with Sunny but it has been well worth the wait. He has just begun shooting and it's a start-to-finish schedule." Apart from Sunny, the cast of Fox includes Arjun Rampal, Sagarika Ghatge and Udita Goswami. "As the title implies the animal is associated with cunningness and the film's script takes on this crafty characteristic of the animal. It is a stylised thriller," adds Tijori. The film is being produced by Zee along with Rohit Kumar (son of filmmaker Mohan Kumar). It is written by Tijori as well. From August 3, the Fox unit begins a month's schedule in Goa. "We will be shooting in north and south Goa and as it will be an outdoor shoot and we're hoping that the rains don't play spoilsport," informs Tijori who earlier directed Oops!, Khamosh... Khauff Ki Raat, Fareb and Tom Dick And Harry. источник
